What is…
Dot.Dot.Dot.
Experience the world transforming beneath your feet.
Dot. Dot. Dot. is an interactive art exhibit where each step you take changes the canvas.
Projections on the floor create an interactive "carpet" for the user to explore as their position and movements shift and change elements across the floor.
Our team has tailored 13 different animated floors to interact with contained within three visual themes: abstract, illustrated, and vectored.
Abstract
Simple, satisfying, sophisticated. This team contains five maps: the original Dot.Dot.Dot., Triangles, Free Draw, Gems, and Earthquake. Dot.Dot.Dot. and Earthquake also had a color changing feature triggered off of arm tracking.

More!
Interactivity with Arms
Color changing based on arms up or down!
Wheelchair Accessible
The floor also tracks accurately for wheelchair users.
Transition Animation
Unified styles with a simple transition between designs
Software + Hardware
Rive
Rive is an animation software that includes interactivity to it. Although it was new for all of us, it made it possible for more complex animations to be produced
Xbox Kinects + Laser Projectors
Two Xbox Kinects were used to track user motion and location. The position of the user was the main point of interaction.
Unity
Unity was the central hub for everything development. It allowed us to combine different files and add timing and transitions. Unity was also used for select abstract animations.
Resolume
Resolume allowed us to combine and align the images from two projectors to minimize disturbance from shadows.
Imagine RIT
Stickers
Take aways from our exhibit. Gone after the first hour!
Busy!
Our exhibit had people lining up outside and was super popular with kids and adults alike!
Promo Video
Created to direct traffic to our exhibit. Features assets from every design as well as the unifying branding of dot. dot. dot.
Imagine Set Up
Post mop and pre projection, the room was coming together.
Thank you!
